Educational radio station in Kicora

This initiative is closed. It was realized by Howest before the Howest Foundation was set up. We show this project on this website as one of many examples of the corporate social responsability initiatives Howest University College already supported in recent years.

The year is 2010. In Kigoma (Tanzania) dr. Deo Baribwegure is starting up an educational radio. This radio station broadcasts educational programs for people who unfortunately don't have access to regular education.

With the financial support of the Vlir Uos scholarship program, Howest sends out student Arne Ingelbeen to Kigoma to support the start up of that radio station. He helps with the installation of technical studio equipment, gives lecturers on the use of the technology of this equipment, draws up broadcasting schedules and helps with drawing up course material.
